Sean Miller who 24 hours ago turned down the Arizona job is now going to take the Arizona job. Miller who’s name has been involved in every High-Major job from Virginia to Georgia to Kentucky to Memphis will be leading Arizona now. Miller who is a mid-west guy, growing up in Pittsburgh, PA, played his college ball at Pitt, was a GA at Wisconsin, had stints at Miami-Ohio, North Carolina State and Xavier. One thing about Miller is the guy can flat out recruit and get’s his teams to play hard and has post-season success.
Recruiting Swirl:
What happens with the current players and with Jordan Crawford (transfer from Indiana)? Will Crawford stay at Xavier or transfer with Miller to the fun and sun of Arizona? Will Kevin Parrom, 6-foot-6, 2009, SF, try and get out of his signed L.O.I with Xavier or keep it if Book Richardson (Xavier Assistant) stays at Xavier? What happens with 6-foot-6, 2010, SF, JD. “Air” Spoon from Columbus, Northland (OH)? Will Spoon’ keep to his word and wait for the new coach to be at Xavier, will he verbal to stay with coach Miller or will he re-open his commitment and look for blue skies elsewhere? Sources close to Weatherspoon have given him advice to wait and see how the coaching situation unfolds and then go from there. 6-foot-8, 2010, PF, Jordan Latham from Baltimore, MD is another top 100 kid that X will have to secure and keep off the auction block if the staff is hired within.
Who will Xavier hire?
Xavier Athletic Director Mike Bobinski is gonna have to make a very important decision on who is going to lead the Muskateers now that Miller is gone. Here is a list of canidates that are in the silent hat: Chris Mack (current Xavier assistant),Brad Brownell (Wright State),Fran McCraffery (Siena), Ken McDonald(Western Kentucky), Brad Stevens (Butler Head coach), Keith Dambrot (Akron Head Coach), John Groce (Ohio University Head Coach), Archie Miller (Ohio State assistant coach), Gary Waters (Cleveland State), Tony Barbee (Utep), Greg Gard (Wisconsin assistant coach).
