Holland, MI.- The host West MI. Lakers 17u team bounced back from after going through the gauntlet in Ft. Wayne last weekend by beating their West Side rival, Grand Rapids Storm, in the 4^th Annual Tulip Tip Off.

The Grand Rapids Storm Classic brought in the largest amount of teams and the Michigan Mustangs defeated the host program in the 17u final.

Another one of the top ten teams in Michigan, the Camp Darryl Basketball Academy, hosts its tournament this weekend in Kalamazoo, MI., might they come up victorious again?

C.D.B.A. won in Mt. Pleasant, MI. in the Mid Michigan All Stars’ Classic, the last weekend of April which coincided with the King James Shooting Stars Classic.

There are three other A.A.U. programs in Michigan that rose to the occasion and win notable championships. The Family’s 17u was the first team from Michigan to win an out of state tournament in two years by taking home the Bill Hensley Run n Slam Tournament Silver Championship in Ft. Wayne, IN. two weekends ago. Team Detroit defeated the L.A. Stars in the Detroit All Stars Classic at the Capitol Centre’s Aim High complex in Dimondale, MI. last weekend and Common Bond’s 17u won the state qualifier in Canton, MI. also over last weekend.
