While many of these guys go unnoticed and overlooked  by the importance of a free helping hand,  there is someone that goes the extra mile, they beat you to the gym, they lock the doors when you leave, he picks you up at the airport, they take out the trash, they sweep the floor, he grabs your diet pepsi before the press conference, he waits in the snow for your rental car,  he does all the laundry, pumps all the balls and fold the shirts for biddy ball camp, he helps you move into your new house, he orders all the pre-game and post-game meals and even remembers to add grilled chicken on the side just like you asked during the TV timeout when you were down by six. They take the place of rebounding machines, snow blowers, nurses, doctors, and even travel agents under pressure. They always have a ball in their hand and a towel on their shoulders. They are merely faces in the crowd, but they are the straws that stir the drinks, they are the crack fillers and CEO’s that the Media Guides, ESPN’S and Color Comentary guys in the booth forget about. A boy, A ball, A dream is what Dick Vitale mentioned during his Hall of Fame Speech. I feel every manager in the country would fit into this category!
