Cameron Black, a 6-foot-9, 232 pound, 2010, PF from Kent, Ohio (Roosevelt HS) committed to Bowling Green State University accroding to his father via text. Cameron played his summer ball for King James Shooting Stars and got the attention of the B.G. staff while playing in the AAU 17U Nationals this past July. Cameron plays high school basketball for his father, Cameron Sr. at Kent Roosevelt which is southeast of Cleveland, Ohio. Black also entertained interest from Akron, Cleveland State, Youngstown State, UMBC and others before choosing Bowling Green. Last year as Junior Black averaged 11 points and 10 rebounds a game while helping his team acheive a 13-7 overall record.
Some inside scoop on Cameron, he is a very young prospect in the fact that he could be a 2011 kid with having such a early birthday. His father played high school ball at Columbus Northland and was on one of their very first teams in Columbus. Cameron owns unreal guard skills for a big guy and with the rapid speed of growth that has occurred over the past 2 short years. Two words, Very skilled! I hate to project or predict anything, but he could be a 7-footer someday!
