Ohio State landed their first prospect today in the class of 2011 with a verbal from 6-foot-3, guard Shannon Scott. Scott hails from Milton High School in Georgia. Scott is the son of former NBA player Charlie Scott. The younger Scott is long, athletic and is still growing physically, as a prospect he owns a superior skill set and gamer mentality with his ability to shoot the ball and slash to the cup. Scott plays AAU ball for the Southern Kings.
Ohio State broke their mid-west recruiting norm by going south of the Mason-Dixon line to pick up this Top 50 prospect overall. The last prospect to verbal to Ohio State from Georgia was former 2010 prospect Trea Golden.
